Erdogan branded Syria a ‘terrorist state’:

Turkey.Terrorist.State.syrian.planes.jpeg

“The regime in Syria has now become a terrorist state,” Mr Erdogan declared on September 5, 2012, at a meeting of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development party. “We do not have the luxury to be indifferent to what is happening there.”

The military poker game of NATO

After US and UK, Germany is the largest weapons supplier to Turkey

October 4, 2012

NATO members have both sold and donated a wide range of weapons to Turkey, including more than 500 combat aircraft, 500 combat helicopters, 5,000 tanks, and thousands of artillery pieces, mortars, machine guns and assault rifles. The United States has been Turkey's main supplier, providing about 80% of Turkey's arsenal. Over the past decade (up to 1995), the US Congress has appropriated $5.3 billion in military aid (grants and loans to purchase weapons) for Turkey, making Turkey the third largest recipient of US military aid (after Israel and Egypt).

Turkey has recently invited bids for the supply of four early warning aircraft (AWACS) (mid-1998). The contract is worth around $1 billion. The aircraft would enable Turkey not only to command and control its own airspace but also that of the surrounding region. Likely suppliers are Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grunman, and Israel Aircraft Industries.

After US and UK, Germany is the largest weapons supplier to Turkey. Germany is currently trying to sell Turkey 1,000 Leopard II main battlefield tanks.

US. president Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for terrorist attacks in Syria. Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an "intelligence finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust the Syrian government. C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and medical working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said some weeks ago that Britain steps up its support for terrrorists in Syria, providing them with an additional £5 million (US$7.8 million).

Over 30,000 various weapons, including boxes of gunshots with the words "NATO BALL" have been channelled to Syria. The overall amount of explosives makes up 300 tons. The deliveries were made by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They depend on the United States, which is making every effort to overpower Syria.

Photo 1: On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara. The meeting took place at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff some days later. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed. But the smiling faces and the news about Turkey's attack on the Syrian civil aircraft, tell us something about the 'democratic' plans they made.

Photo 2: Turkish fighter jets forced a Syrian passenger plane that was so called 'suspected of carrying weapons' to land at Ankara airportIt proves once again that the Turkish government is not onlyarming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

China Stresses Efforts to Reach Just, Peaceful Solution to Crisis in Syria

Sep 27, 2012

NEW YORK, (SANA) - China urged on Wednesday the international community to continue exerting efforts for finding a solution to the crisis in Syria and to remain on the right track in this regard, warning against the repercussions of the crisis on the whole region.

The Chinese news agency XINHUA quoted Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi as saying in his speech at the Security Council's meeting on the situation in the Middle East that China as a permanent member of the Council faithfully fulfilled its obligations and acted as a positive force in the efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria in a just, peaceful and appropriate way.

He called for supporting the UN envoy to Syria Lakhaar Brahimi's efforts to play a neutral role and seriously implementing the Council's relevant resolutions, the six-point plan of former UN envoy Kofi Annan and Geneva agreement.

The Chinese Foreign Minister pointed out that the international community should stay on the right track through finding a political solution to the crisis.

"We urge all the Syrian sides to implement the Security Council's resolutions, Annan's plan and Geneva agreement and to stop violence, protect the civilians and prepare the circumstances for a Syrian-led political transition," Yang said.

He expressed his country's concern over not finding a solution to the current crisis in Syria so far, asserting that the concerns are not only over the future and destiny of Syria and its people but over realizing peace and stability in the entire Middle East.

Syria: Washington supplies terrorists with weapons

Iranian Shura Council Spokesman, Ali Larijani,.jpgLarijani: US and Regional Countries Supply terrorist Groups in Syria with Weapons… chaos in Syria does not benefit West

Sep 20, 2012 - TEHRAN, (SANA) - Iranian Shura Council Spokesman, Ali Larijani, stressed that a flood of weapons was pouring to the armed terrorist groups in Syria by the USA and some regional countries , adding that some of these countries are proud to announce they are providing weapons money, which made the former UN envoy to Syria Kofi Annan resign, believing that some countries were contributing to the problem instead of trying to resolve it.

In an exclusive interview with the British Newspaper of Financial Times, larijani said "These countries which got involved with Syria assumed they could change Syria in a matter of a few weeks and achieve their selfish goals. Others had bigger plans – to help the Zionist regime, but they failed because of their provocative behaviour. If a country wants to carry out political reforms, this cannot happen with rocket-propelled grenades. "

The Iranian official wondered, "Are the USA seeking reform in Syria with RPGs? If this is what the US believes in, why does not it do so in other countries in the region that are ruled by monarchies who do not allow women even to drive cars? Is this not a problem for the Americans?"

Vote Makes Changes in Countries Not Weapons

He continued to say that change in every country should be effected through people’s votes, not through other countries sending weapons and making decisions in pretext of peace, pointing out that people are killed every day in Syria due to the violent behaviour of westerners and some regional countries.

Larijani noted that some western intelligence services have been involved in the explosions hit Syria, wondering why they are doing that.

"Those who are meddling in Syria are responsible for the bloodshed of the Syrian people," considering that some western powers and some regional countries think their demands should be implemented, even if it has to be with tanks.

Opposition Has no Reference for Negotiations

The Iranian official said "The opposition does not have a unified leader. It is multilayered. They have various intentions and opinions. Some countries give them financial and military assistance. There is no reference group for negotiations in this issue."

"We believe that any reforms should come from inside Syria, without outside pressure. And these groups are made up of Syrians. They can participate in the reform process, give their thoughts and provide solutions. We were moving toward finding a peaceful solution – which means democratic reform through peaceful behaviour, not violence," he added.

Chaos in Syria Not Benefit West

On the duration of the crisis, larijani considered that It will depend on how western powers behave, adding that If they think rationally, they will see the chaos in Syria does not benefit them.

"The west should take note of the consequences of unrest in some countries that are not as significant as Syria. You see it in Libya and elsewhere… This means fighting with the people of one region and sending weapons and killing them will have a negative impact, while the consequent unrest will benefit no one," he added.

Iranian Shura Council Spokesman said that Syria has strong institutions, as there is an established government, despite attempts to sabotage it.

"The west saw an opportunity and sent some equipment to stir things up… Maybe they thought weakening Syria would benefit Israel, but I think the unrest there will create problems for them, too, although this may only become clear in the future," he added.

Later, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources gave a review of the status of work and production at the institutions and companies affiliated to the Ministry, highlighting the attacks against the oil wells and stations by armed terrorist groups, and the efforts of these companies to protect oil institutions.

In press statements following the meeting, Prime Minister al-Halki said that the government is exerting all necessary efforts to provide oil derivatives for citizens, especially the heating oil and gas, affirming that the meeting came up with feasible solutions to meet the needs of citizens.

Al-Halki stressed that gas is available in most of the provinces, citing some exceptions in several areas due to the acts of the terrorist groups who are blocking routs to prevent the access of these substances to citizens.

He added that the difficulties in providing the heating oil are ascribed to the challenges in transporting this substance due to the attacks which targeted the oil transportation lines.

The prime minister stressed that the strategic reserve of the heating oil caters to the needs of citizens during winter, which is estimated at 200 liters in the next couple of months, adding that it will be distributed according to mechanisms defined by the Ministry of Petroleum starting from September 23.

Freedom of self-determination: Bolivia

Bolivia.jpg

Sept. 13, 2012 - La Paz, (SANA) - Bolivia renewed its rejection of any foreign interference in Syria and its support to the principle of the people's freedom of self-determination.

In a press statement on Thursday, Bolivian Vice President, Alvaro Garcia, considered that the Syrian issue is a repeated scenario to the operations of "soft" invention in North Africa and Middle East countries, which is quite dangerous.

Garcia expressed his country's support to the Syrian government, which is facing terrorist groups, considering that only the Syrians should decide their destination and no one should interfere in Syria's domestic affairs, stressing his country's rejection to any foreign interference in Syria of whichever form.

The Bolivian Vice President said " We defend major principles for coexistence among states, being represented through the right of self-determination, mutual respect among states and the internal problems of a state should be solved by its people."

"The gunmen were rumoring against the Syrian Army to defame its reputation.. they wore the army uniforms to harm its heroism, but they couldn't deceit the people after their terrorist acts were uncovered," one of the citizens said.

"I escaped along with my family before Ramadan as gunmen were terrifying the people, and I was forced to leave my home to rent another with 10.000 SYP monthly.. this was another burden that I suffered.. I call on the army to remain in our neighborhood because I feel safe when the army is present," Mohammad al-Ahmad, a state employee said.

Syria: Ban Ki Moon is example of western hypocrisy

Friends.barack-michelle-obama-met-new-york-ban-ki-moon.jpg

'The United Nations and its partners are doing all we can inside and outside of Syria. But we have to ask if we have done enough, and if we have done the right thing'.  (Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in remarks to the General Assembly on Syria, New York, 4 Sept '12)

--

Brussels, 9.9.2012 - It is a public secret that Ban Ki-moon, who has been posted twice to the Republic of Korea embassy in Washington, D.C. and served as Director-General for American Affairs in 1990–1992, is a very good personal friend of president Obama.

It is therefore that he remains silent about  the secret order signed by America's president Obama authorizing U.S. support for the terrorists and armed groups in Syria seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government.

It is therefore that he remains silent about the increase of Britain's support for the armed groups in Syria, providing them with an additional £5 million (US$7.8 million)'.

The UN is an instrument of the US and its allies (NATO, Saudi Arabia, Israel,) and as the Director of the Russian Center for Analyzing World Arms Trade, Igor Korotchenko, said 'they are responsible for the victims and suffering in Syria'.  By arming terrorists they rejects a solution.

The statements of Ban Ki Moon are a good example of the western hypocrisy.

Latest News Syria: Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan

erdogan.friend.of.Israel.jpg

Foreign Ministry Condemns Erdogan's Repeated and Brazen Statements

Sep 6, 2012 - DAMASCUS, SANA - Foreign and Expatriates Ministry On Thursday condemned the "repeated and impudent statements" of the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the latest of which his yesterday statement tackling issues that condemn the Turkish government's policies and its hostile stances.

" Erdogan accuses Syria of terrorism while he and his government practice this terrorism overtly against the Syrian people through harboring, training and supporting the armed terrorist groups, in addition to facilitating the infiltration of terrorists and Jihadists to Syria in a way that has been clearly exposed through the testimonies of journalists who visited Syria and the confessions of terrorists in the Syrian media, and even the statements of some Turkish politicians who accuse Erdogan's government openly of "playing with fire, " the ministry said in a statement.

The statement added " In the time when Erdogan, in every international forum, is calling for establishing buffer zones, it would be useful to remind that the joint borders between the two countries were an example to follow regarding the integration between countries in terms of trade exchange and building friendship bridges between the two brotherly peoples,"

The statement stressed that yet Erdogan, who shoulders the responsibility for the deterioration of the bilateral relations because of his hostile policies, has not been satiated with the Syrian blood he shed and the destruction he caused to Syria, as he also flouted all principles of fraternity and good-neighborly relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples.

" The sign of Erdogan's aggressive behavior is obvious, as it expresses his frustration for the failure of the scheme targeting Syria and its people," the statement said.

" Friendship ties between the Syrian and Turkish peoples will remain firm, as Erdogan's policies could not drag the Turkish people to antagonize their brothers in Syria." The statement concluded.

Foreign Ministry: Morsi's Statements during Arab FMs Meeting Interference in Syrian Affairs

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry condemned the statements of the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi during an Arab foreign ministers' meeting in Cairo, considering them a flagrant interference in the Syrian affairs and outright infringement of the Syrians' right to determine their own future.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry said that Morsi unequivocally showed that he reflected the views of a group that is detached from the mutual history of the Syrian and Egyptian people.

The Ministry added that Morsi's statements are part of the media instigation that seeks to stoke the ongoing violence in Syria, thus making no exception to the governments which are providing the armed terrorist groups with funds, weapons and refuge, which makes them partners in the bloodshed in Syria.

The Ministry said that history will not forgive them for what they did to the Syrian people, expressing trust that the brotherly Egyptian people are capable of restoring Egypt's role on the Arab arena in a way that redresses the balance that is currently missing in the joint Arab action.

NAM Summit is Diplomatic Triumph for Iran

NAM.jpg

The Non Aligned Movement consists of some 120 members and 17 observer members. Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, in 1979 defined the purpose of the Non Aligned Movement as "the national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of non-aligned countries" in their "struggle against imperialism colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism and all forms of foreign aggression."

Lots of revolutionary ideas but how close is NAM to this vision will be looked at on this News Analysis featuring statements from Stephen Lendman, Omar Nashabi and Paul Craig Roberts. We will also take a look at the original purpose of this organization and what has or has not been accomplished by it since its inception in 1961.

The extraordinarily “remarkable turnout” of so many countries for the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran shows the countries’ support for Iran’s sovereign rights to make use of peaceful nuclear technology, says Stephen Lendman.

The comment comes as the more than 100 countries are partaking in the NAM summit which kicked off in the Iranian capital Tehran on Sunday and is scheduled to end on August 31.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will also participate in the event, during which the Islamic Republic will assume the rotating presidency of NAM for three years.

Political analyst Omar Nashabi says the wide presence of high-level representatives at the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit being held in Iran is a diplomatic triumph for the Islamic republic. More than 100 representatives of NAM member states have attended the conference.

According to Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, the participation of at least 27 presidents, two kings, seven prime ministers and two Parliament speakers has been confirmed so far.

NAM is the biggest international organization after the United Nations General Assembly.

Russian Military Expert: US Responsible for Victims in Syria

Aug 22, 2012 - MOSCOW, (SANA) - Director of the Russian Center for Analyzing World Arms Trade, Igor Korotchenko said that the US is responsible for the victims and suffering in Syria, as it has supported the opposition and armed groups there and rejects a solution to the crisis.

In an interview with Russia Today TV on Wednesday, Korotchenko said there are confirmed reports that the US President Barack Obama signed a memo that allows the US forces to support the opposition and armed groups in Syria, which proves the US does not want a solution to the crisis.

He indicated that al-Qaeda organization is fighting alongside the armed opposition in Syria, adding that the goals of the US and al-Qaeda are the same at this stage.

Korotchenko stressed that the priority now is dialogue and work to end violence, adding that the Russian position is clear unlike the stances of Western countries which are trying to supply the opposition with weapons.
